About

Christ is risen!

My name is Adam Kemner.  I am a Byzantine Catholic, husband of one woman, father of seven children.  I act as cantor, reader, and ustavshchik at the Byzantine Catholic Outreach in Iowa.  I also maintain the web site http://www.eceia.org, the Outreach’s web site, and Eastern Catholics in Eastern Iowa, the Outreach’s facebook page.  I also am a Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 160, Mechanicsville, IA, committee member for Pack 160, Stanwood, IA, and I am on Catholic Committees on Scouting as the need arises.  Also, I am studying for my Master’s in Pastoral Theology at Saint Ambrose University.  And I work as a Senior Business Systems Analyst at Transamerica Life Insurance Company, Cedar Rapids, Ia.  Thus, as you can see, I am lucky should I meet myself coming and going.

Being a Byzantine Catholic in Diaspora, I named this blog Scattered Wheat, first, because “Diaspora” means that which is dispersed or scattered, and secondly if reference to Jesus’ parable of the scattered wheat.  May the Lord see to it that myself, my family, and the Outreach, be the grain that lands on fertile soil.

In Christ,

Adam
